Why Oriental Carpet Cleaning Needs To Be Planned Differently

Oriental carpet cleaning is a discipline which has two distinct and separate parts. Firstly, there is the regular cleaning of carpets and rugs to keep them in optimum condition. The reverse side of an oriental carpet can be cleaned far more vigorously, so do that in the first instance. You will still be sucking through a lot of the dirt which got into the carpet through the front. The very act of turning the carpet over will also allow some of the loose dirt from the front to fall out naturally. The more this can happen, the less work the vacuum cleaner will need to do. When you have finished the vacuum cleaning, the carpet will need to be washed.

Washing an oriental carpet is something which needs to be done with extreme care. None of the systems which work so well on hard wearing modern carpets are going to be suitable here. Steam cleaning an oriental carpet would be disastrous, and even dry cleaning will do more harm than good. You need to use a detergent which has been specially prepared for the job, and you need to wash the carpet on both sides. The carpet then needs to be rinsed thoroughly to prevent any detergent or dirt being left behind.

They don't need to be specialists in the cleaning of oriental carpets, as any all purpose carpet cleaner will know of the special circumstances and be able to deal with them. You should experience equally good results from either a household name franchise, or a local small business, as both will have prior experience of oriental carpet cleaning.
